Improving EV Battery Life in V2G Systems with Smarter Estimation Models
With the increase in vehicle-to-grid (V2G) implementation, battery degradation continues to be a significant area of concern. An expectation-based Gaussian process model for accurately estimating battery parameters during bi-directional charging was developed as part of our research published in the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics. Our modeling technique allows for variations and uncertainties within individual cells and enables improved monitoring of battery health, increasing the reliability of grid support and creating sustainable EV integration within smart grid ecosystems with longer lifetimes.
